SAC- A Message for the Heart

Previous SAC News

Hey Sacred Heart,

How quickly November flew by! Our S.A.C. took a special trip this month to the Ontario Student Leadership Conference in Niagara Falls. Here they gathered with student  council members from across Ontario to listen to great speakers, share experiences and learn to become more motivated and involved as a school community. Mrs. Wilkin and Miss Schuett were very proud of all SHHS representatives and can’t wait to take more students next year.

We also had this year’s first, and epic, semi-formal dance in the SHHS gym! The house was packed with, what some teacher chaperones believed to be, the best turn out in  years. Amazing tunes were pumped out by our own master-mind mixers Ben Kittel and Ben Carroll with the brand new DJ and speaker systems. Special thanks to our teacher  chaperones Ms. White, Mrs. Stanislow, Ms. Voisin, Fr. Jason, and Mrs. Hicks for their help.

Additionally, our school spirit clothing arrived! You can now see students sporting these  hoodies, track pants and shirts around the halls. They are also perfect to curl up in  during the upcoming snow days we are all wishing for (yes, even the teachers)! Great job Bizz and the rest of the Athletics committee for organizing and distributing these clothes!

Upcoming S.A.C. events for the month of December include:

Make sure to be here and take part in all of these events!
One more month SHHS and we have two weeks of freedom!
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a very safe and happy holiday,
-Your SHHS S.A.C.

October News

Heads Up Sacred Heart!

The month of October has been a busy one.  The students have been working together, while school work has been increasing and there have also been events taking place at the school.  The pep rally was on October 24th.  As the girls basketball team went up against WDSS, the school was supporting from the stands.  Thank you to all who cheered our girls on with Sacred Heart spirit, and showed off our colors with painted faces.  The spirit days (Oct 24th- 31st) have been actively embraced by the school body.  It started with people dressing up as the ultimate school fan, wearing the school colors.  On Tuesday everyone had the chance to be someone else and dress up as a person from a different country.  The following day required some creativity as people came in dressed in colorful costumes to represent their favourite sweet treat.  Special recognition goes out to Jess Schmaltz as a “Jelly Belly”, Alyssa Weiler as “Cotton Candy” and Mr. Striukas as a “Swedish Berry”.  To finish the week people could simply go from their bed to school for “Sleepy Hallow Day” (a.k.a. the timeless pajama day), and the following Monday, October 31st, was when everyone could wear their Halloween costmes!

Upcoming SAC events at the Heart to watch for are:

Spirit Week is a week devoted to getting you involved and doing something different.  Each day of the week has a special theme.  Be sure to participate with your friends and classmates.  Remember that you will receive points for your Grade.  Watch announcements closer to the date to find out what each day will bring!

To The Students of Sacred Heart High School

When those we love go away, they never really leave us; they are with us now, wherever we are.  Cherish each other without holding back.  Now. Today.  This minute.  We will survive the shock, the denial, sadness, the sleepless nights and when we are under the weight of silence and all that it means.  We will slowly begin to remember the one we lost in a different way... The laughter, the irrepressible spirit, the big heart, the way their smile made us feel, the encouragement they gave even as their own dreams were dying.  Those who we have cherished, live on forever, because love wraps itself around the Heart.  Although it's difficult now, someday beyond our tears and all the world's wrongs; beyond the clouds and all that we can see and touch, there is hope.  For those who had the privilege of knowing him and those who did not, we are in this together, here for each other, remembering forever.

He’s a part of us all, Stay Strong Sacred.
