What / Who is Sacred Heart High School

Our Catholic Secondary School is located in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada. It is located in Bruce County and is a part of the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board. We have approximately 800 students from grades 9 - 12. There are approximately 50 teaching staff members with an additional 35 support staff at the school. Many of our students live in a rural setting and are bused to the school. We do not have a school uniform but follow a respectful dress code.

We have a very active community, as you can tell by browsing the rest of the web pages. Check out the number of teams, clubs, support programs, special events, etc. listed on this site to get a better flavour of what we do and who we are.

REPORTING ABSENCES - If you know that your son or daughter will be away from school, PLEASE CALL and let us know. Messages can be left 24-hours per day at (519)881-1900.

OFFICE HOURS -
Our school office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day Monday to Friday. If you call during these hours and get our answering machine this indicates that all of our phone lines are busy. Please leave a message or call back later.

If you would like to visit the school we would love to have you. Our technological area underwent a virtual doubling in size with greatly expanded areas for transportation / construction and manufacturing disciplines. Previous additions / rationalizations helps ensure our facility is current, safe and productive environment for our students.

However, it is the students and staff of "The Heart" who make it a special place. Both groups are committed to providing an enjoyable and rewarding educational community. The staff are well skilled, knowledgeable and care about the students! We have hosted Provincial OSAID and Youth For Life Conferences, OFSAA Championships in Basketball and Rugby and have attained many Provincial honours. Our students are deeply involved in Social Justice and community efforts and we have an increasing number of students participating in support programs to countries like the Dominican Republic and Peru.
